Government Relations & Public Policy Advice
Our government relations and public policy group provides advice to clients on legislative and regulatory changes emanating from all levels of government. Members of our team are in regular contact with senior government decision-makers, including cabinet ministers, deputy ministers and political assistants. With offices in Vancouver and Victoria, we enjoy productive relationships with elected officials and their staff on both sides of the legislature. Many members of our group have extensive government experience—not only in how good ideas become policies and laws, but also in how policy and legislative ideas are successfully marketed to specific communities and the broader public.
Some of the services we offer include:
- Advocacy before government, including policy formation, government relations, and procurement advice
- Counsel on the advice, design and implementation of business initiatives requiring approvals or involvement at all levels of government, including those of First Nations
- Counsel on complying with, responding to and helping design new regulatory initiatives
- One-stop management of legal, government relations, environmental, aboriginal and public relations aspects of industrial projects and new business initiatives
- Public issue dispute resolution, including the design and implementation of processes as well as dispute resolution.
