Angéline Fournier is a representative for HB Global in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). A lawyer and negotiator specializing in international matters, she advises investors and government organizations in Canada, France and the MENA as well as in African countries, with regards to business and economic development and governance reform. Businesses from Canada, France and the MENA who are looking to enter these markets also seek her expertise on corporate and legal issues, on the definition of appropriate structures, on the selection of reliable partners and on negotiations.
President of Maeva Investments (Canada) and international manager of Captrade International (Egypt), Ms. Fournier is also a member of the Centre for European Policy Studies’ Taskforce on challenges to the financing of Mediterranean SMEs and chairs the international section of the board of directors of the Institut de médiation et d'arbitrage du Québec’s. She is a bank ombudsman and appears on KPMG’s Roster List of Certified Mediators and Arbitrators. She is vice-president of the taskforce on global governance reform of the New School of Athens and a member of the Arab International Women’s Forum.
Ms. Fournier is a member of the International Bar Association and the Bar of Paris and is a certified mediator. She holds a Masters of Business Law from Université Paris V (France) and a Masters of Comparative Law from McGill University (Canada). She attended the Program of Instruction for Lawyers (now known as the Program on Negotiation) at Harvard Law School, where she developed negotiation, mediation and dispute resolution skills. She is frequently invited to speak at conferences on investment in the MENA region.
